Policies
This catering manual describes the services and menu options available for catered events from the Food and Nutrition Department. Catering services are available five days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and by special arrangements. Catering services are also available at other locations by special arrangements. We will be happy to arrange a special menu for any requested event. Also if any food allergies are known please let us know in advance, so that we may accomodate accordingly.
The catering staff wants your event to be a success. Please follow the directions on the CaterTrax site, and call if you need more information. Orders should be placed no later that 48 hours prior to your event. Orders placed later than that may be subject to a late fee. The number of guests that are on file 48 hours prior to the event will be the total amount billed. For all events, please provide a contact name and telephone extension when making your catering request.
In arranging for private functions, the final attendance must be received by the Catering office no later than 11:00 a.m. two working days prior to the commencement of the function.
This number will be considered a guarantee, not subject to reduction, and charges will be made accordingly. Should the number of number of guests decrease, you will be charged your original requested amount unless the Catering office is given 48-hour notice prior to your event. Any changes or cancellations within 48 hour of your event will result in a 10% surcharge. All orders placed without a 48 hour notice will be subject to a pick-up and return only. These changes include an increase in the number of guests or a menu change. Customer agrees to be responsible for any damages or loss of equipment by the customer, guests, invitees, employees, or any other agent under Customer’s control.
Any items ordered after 5 p.m. the day before the event will be subject to a $25.00 surcharge.
White linens are available for a minimal cost. Additional linen requests are at a market rate. We will be happy to order fresh floral arrangements for your event.
Basic Service: Paper service with plastic utensils.
Deluxe Service: High quality plastic add 20%
China Service: China service 25% + linen charge
Special arrangements are available for table and equipment rentals at additional cost. Please contact the Catering office for special arrangements at 510-428-3000, ext. 3569 to schedule a consultation.
Where applicable, additional charges will apply:
Waited service may be appropriate for plated meal service
Where extra set-up or service staff is requested or required
Catered events scheduled after 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, holidays, and weekends may have additional labor charges
